Episode 37: Danelle Shoemaker On Being a Hospice Chaplain

Danelle Shoemaker currently works as a hospice chaplain at Mt. Carmel Hospice in Columbus, Ohio. As a hospice chaplain, Danelle provides emotional and spiritual counseling to patients and their families. Her other duties on the job include submitting written reports on patient interactions and acting as liaisons between members of the clergy and hospice patients.

Danelle’s educational background includes.

  • Master of Divinity, Pastoral Counseling and Care at Ashland Theological Seminary
  • Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Malone College
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (1 unit) from MedCentral Health System
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (Residency) OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital
